HIDALGO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — United States Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Pharr man wanted for aggravated kidnapping.
On Tuesday, 55-year-old Gonzalo Galvan Beltran arrived at the Hidalgo International Bridge from Mexico, attempting to enter the U.S.
According to a news release from CBP, an officer immediately secured Beltran for a secondary inspection after discovering a possible active warrant.
During the secondary inspection, CBP officers used a biometric verification to confirm his identity along with an active arrest warrant from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities discovered he had been wanted since March 2023 for aggravated kidnapping for ransom/reward, a first-degree felony in Texas.
An Hidalgo County Sheriff deputy took Beltran into custody and booked him in the county jail.
