Abandoned house fire under investigation in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A fire investigation is underway after an abandoned house caught fire Monday evening in Brownsville.

The fire occurred at 7 p.m. on the 300 block of E. Jefferson St.

Brownsville Fire Marshal Jose Luis Garcia says the fire impacted the abandoned home and a storage shed.

Garcia adds that the fire caused significant damage to the home and shed.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

No injuries were reported.
