HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) —Clear, calm, and dry make the perfect recipe for overnight cooling. It is called radiational cooling because the warmth of the day radiates into space without a nice blanket of clouds to keep it in.

Heading out the door on Tuesday, you might want a jacket or a hat as temperatures are in the mid to upper 40s throughout much of the Valley. Good news comes as clear skies and winds shifting back to the southeast will keep afternoon temperatures near 80 degrees.

True to Valley form, temperatures will rise each day throughout the week and the weekend, with daytime highs in the mid- to upper 80s by the weekend. No rain is expected into early next week.
