HIDALGO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Over $700,000 worth of cocaine hidden in a vehicle was seized at the Hidalgo International Bridge, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The drug bust happened Wednesday, after an inspection led to the discovery of narcotics.

Officers arrested a 40-year-old man after discovering 23 packages of cocaine weighing 55 pounds hidden in a Chevrolet SUV.
“CBP officers used all tools and resources to thwart this smuggling attempt,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.
The cocaine had an estimated street value of $739,742.
