BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville police arrested five people in connection with the death of 22-year-old Adam Hunter Garza.
Public Information Officer for the Brownsville Police Department, Abril Luna, provided a detailed timeline of the five arrests made in connection to the 2023 deadly drive-by shooting that killed Adam Hunter Garza.
On Dec. 23, 2023, authorities responded to a homicide at the 3200 block of E. 28th Street. According to police, the victim, later identified as Garza, had arranged to meet with an individual to sell them vape products.
During that meet-up, Garza was robbed, shot and killed outside his residence, Luna said.


On April 16, 2025, authorities served an arrest warrant to the main suspect in the case, who was later identified to be a juvenile.
The suspect is being processed on charges of first-degree murder and engaging in organized criminal activity. Luna added that investigators recovered the vehicle used during the time of the crime.
On the same day, 21-year-old Jorge Angel Gallegos was also charged with murder and engaging in organized criminal activity, while incarcerated for unrelated charges.
On April 17, the investigation led to the arrest of a second minor located in Harlingen, Luna said.
On April 29, 19-year-old Ethan Gallegos and another juvenile suspect were arrested in connection to the case.
