3 arrested, charged with attempted murder in Raymondville Stripes stabbing

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Three men are facing attempted murder charges after an argument led to an overnight stabbing at a Stripes in Raymondville.

The stabbing occurred on Oct. 21 at a Stripes located at the 100 block of Expressway 77.

Raymondville police, with the assistance of state and federal law enforcement, arrested Lewis Garcia, 25; Moises Zepeda Ruiz, 37; and John Manuel Sandoval, 35, for their involvement in the stabbing that left one person in the hospital.

Sandoval was arrested on Nov. 1 outside of the Rio Grande Valley in Beeville.

Ruiz and Garcia were arrested Tuesday in Port Mansfield.

All three men were charged with attempted murder and issued a $40,000 bond.

Garcia was additionally charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, increasing his total bond to $50,000.

Police say the victim, a 39-year-old man, was left with multiple stab wounds to his ribcage, hands, and neck.

He was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
