21 year old accused of beating, tying up man before stealing from him

PALMVIEW, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man is wanted out of Hidalgo County after his alleged victim was found injured and tied up inside a home.

Jovanni Palomino, 21, is accused of assaulting and tying up a 50-year-old man Saturday at the 1900 block of Moorefield Road in rural Palmview. After the assault, he allegedly took the victim's phone and car.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation, where he remained under the doctor's care.

Palomino has warrants out for his arrest for aggravated robbery, a 1st degree felony and unlawful restraint, a 3rd degree felony.

Preliminary information indicates that Palomino may have fled to Mexico following the assault, investigators say.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is working with local, state and federal partners to local and arrest Palomino.
