2-vehicle crash involving DPS trooper under investigation in Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A woman was taken to the hospital after colliding with a Texas Department of Public Safety unit.

The incident occurred on Friday on University Drive and 16th Ave., in Edinburg.

Authorities say the State Trooper was traveling westbound on University Drive, approaching 16th Street, and the Mustang driver was traveling southbound on 16th Street, making a left turn onto University Drive.

Both vehicles collided at the intersection.

The State Trooper is reported to have no injuries. The Mustang driver was taken to a hospital for precautionary measures.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
