WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with auto theft at the Hidalgo Port of Entry, the Weslaco Police Department reported.
Kimberly Silva, 19, and Lesly Alonso, 18, were arrested in connection with the recent theft of a GMC Sierra that was stolen in the 1000 block of W. 10th Street.
Weslaco PD says the arrests were made when Silva and Alonso crossed back into the United States from Mexico and were found with a combined total of $10,000 in cash.
The two women have also been identified as persons of interest in multiple auto theft cases across Hidalgo County.
The news release says that additional suspects have been identified through the ongoing investigation, and more arrests are anticipated.
