2 dead in Brownsville officer-involved shooting

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man and a woman are dead following an officer-involved shooting that happened on Monday, Brownsville police confirm.

Authorities said the incident began as a verbal dispute between a man and a woman who knew each other at the 2000 block of Coria Street.

The names of the deceased are not being released at this time until notification of the next of kin, according to the Brownsville Police Department.

The officers involved in the shooting were not harmed, according to Brownsville police. The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation.
