ROMA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — United States Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $2.8 million worth of cocaine.
On July 28, CBP officers at the Roma International Bridge referred a tractor-trailer hauling a shipment of sodas for an enforcement inspection, according to a news release from CBP.

During the inspection, a canine alerted officers, which resulted in a physical examination of the trailer.
Inside the trailer, officers found 73 packages containing a total of approximately 212.3 pounds of alleged cocaine hidden within the shipment, the release stated.
The cocaine had an estimated street value of $2,834,686.
CBP officers seized the narcotics, trailer, and tractor. Homeland Security Investigations special agents initiated a criminal investigation.
