$1M in alleged cocaine seized at Pharr bridge

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 30 packages of alleged cocaine Friday.

Officers at the Pharr International Bridge intercepted the alleged cocaine that was concealed inside a commercial tractor trailer.

The trailer was coming in from Mexico and was referred to a secondary inspection for further processing. During the second inspection, officers used not intrusive equipment and a canine team.

A physical inspection of the trailor led to the discovery of 30 packages of alleged drugs.

The packages weighed a total of 76.19 pounds and have an estimated street value of $1,017,300.

CBP seized the drugs and the commercial tractor trailer.
