18-wheeler truck falls off overpass in Peñitas, three hospitalized

PENITAS, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Three people are in the hospital after an 18-wheeler fell off an overpass in Penitas.

The crash happened Monday evening on Expressway 83.

First responders from nearby cities, including Palmview, are at the scene.

According to Irma Garza, Public Relations Officer with the City of Palmview, the tractor got dislodged from the truck and fell over, hitting a car that was driving underneath.

Two people inside the car as well as the truck driver were taken to the hospital.
