18-wheeler crash on expressway causes delays in Harlingen

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A traffic accident Tuesday under rainy conditions caused delays along West Expressway 83 in Harlingen.

Images from the scene show a large white commercial truck with significant front-end damage after crashing into the outer barrier of the expressway. A white car with moderate damage to its hood was also involved.

At least three police patrol units responded to the scene to assist with the investigation and direct traffic.

According to the Harlingen Police Department’s Public Information Officer, Sgt. Larry Moore, the crash involved two vehicles and no hospitalizations were reported. Rain may have played a role in the crash, but the incident remains under investigation.

Drivers are urged to use caution, especially during wet weather conditions.
