WASHINGTON, D.C. (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (D-McAllen) announced on Tuesday $170,390,076 in revised Title I formula allocation funds for several Valley school districts.
The U.S. Department of Education released the final revised totals in late September 2025, which differ from the allocations provided in June due to corrections in State Per-Pupil Expenditure data, according to a news release.
Title I funds are intended to provide opportunities for student success, focusing on the development and creation of educational programs. The adjustments to the fiscal year 2025 allocations were necessary after several State Educational Agencies corrected their State Per-Pupil Expenditure data for the school year 2022-2023.
"These federal funds are crucial for every child in the 34th Congressional District of Texas," said Gonzalez. “One of my top priorities in Congress is making sure that every South Texan child, regardless of their background, can receive the same opportunities to succeed and achieve their American Dream."
The revised Title I funds aim to enhance educational opportunities in the 34th District of Texas, reflecting updated expenditure data to better serve student needs.
