EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One person is in the hospital after a piece of metal detached from a semi-trailer and struck two vehicles, according to Edinburg police.
The accident happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the 900 block of Interstate Highway 69C in Edinburg, near the University Drive exit.
Officers responded to the scene regarding an accident involving a semi-trailer carrying a wide load.
During the investigation, police discovered that a large piece of metal detached from the trailer and struck two vehicles.
According to police, the first vehicle sustained minimal damage, however the metal object entirely struck the second vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital with no apparent major injuries.
Police did not provide additional details on the driver of the semi-trailer.
