San Benito CISD teacher involved in crash en route to state competition

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A San Benito Consolidated Independent School District teacher was involved in a vehicle accident while on their way to a competition.

According to a release from San Benito CISD, a Career and Technology Education teacher was hit while driving a school district vehicle.

The teacher was accompanying the San Benito High School Skills USA Team at the state competition in Corpus Christi.

The release stated the teacher was on their way to pick up the students at the competition when another vehicle rear-ended the district SUV.

There were no students or additional staff members in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

The CTE teacher was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The district reported the teacher did not sustain serious injuries.

The state conference will continue throughout the weekend.
