Officials respond to fire near Harlingen Public Works building

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A brush fire broke out near a Harlingen city building, according to the Harlingen Fire Department.

Smoke was seen outside the Harlingen Public Works Building on Wednesday afternoon, prompting fire officials to respond to the scene.

A large field near the building can be seen completely charred.

The Harlingen Fire Department has not provided details on the cause of the fire or the amount of land that was burned.

A wind advisory and fire weather warning was issued Wednesday until 9 p.m.
