Planned Parenthood South Texas speak on reproductive justice

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Planned Parenthood South Texas hosted a conference to speak on the pivotal role of reproductive justice in advancing women's rights.

The event was held Friday at the ITEC Building. Planned Parenthood South Texas spoke out about the problems women in the border community face, including abortion rights.

Women across America continue to face challenges after the reversal of Roe V. Wade, but in 2021 Mexico has seen a complete legalization of abortion.

"I'm really proud of the strides that Latin American women have made with the green wave in their countries, and I'm hoping the green wave will cross over the border to and hit here in Texas," said Zaena Zamora, executive director of the Frontera Fund.

The Green Wave Movement began in 2003 in Argentina where organizers hoped for reproductive health to become more accessible for women across the United States.
