Ana Verley, 2023-2024 Remarkable Women winner

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Ana Verley is our 2023-2024 Remarkable Women winner.

Our panelists read over 70 essays about remarkable women throughout the Rio Grande Valley with fractions of points separating our finalist.

Verley is a Victim’s Service Specialist for Mothers Against Drunk Driving of the Rio Grande Valley.

Through MADD, Verley provides numerous services to those impacted by drunk drivers. Her services range from providing emotional support in times of crisis, helping them file or request a police report, accompanying them to court proceedings and keeping them informed about an offender’s status.

Verley has won a $1,000 donation for MADD and will travel to Los Angeles, California to compete in Nexstar's national competition.

"Thank you so very much. This is quite an honor and this will go a long way to helping us support the victims of drunk driving. Thank you so very much," she said.

She will compete with over 100 other Remarkable Women winners from across the country to be named Nexstar Media Group's Woman of the Year.
