CCSO: Man punches stepdad for 'making inappropriate comments'

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cameron County deputies arrested a man, who they say, assaulted his stepdad.

Asael Castillo, 20, was charged with assault family violence and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Cameron County Sheriff's Office.

On Sunday, deputies responded to an assault at the 5700 block of Tapachula Drive. At the scene, a 45-year-old man reported to authorities that his stepson, later identified as Castillo, had punched him in the face.

According to a release from CCSO, Castillo reported that he punched his stepdad for "making inappropriate comments and being disrespectful towards him."

Castillo was booked into Carrizales Rucker Detention Center, where he is pending arraignment.
