Alton PD capture man wanted on felony charges

ALTON, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Alton Police successfully apprehended a man on Wednesday, who they say was wanted on multiple arrest warrants.

According to the department's news release, Miguel Angel Meza was arrested with help from the United States Marshals Office, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, United States Border Patrol, and United States Customs and Border Protection.

Meza, police said, was wanted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony, and assault family violence impeding breath, a third-degree felony.

He also has arrest warrants from the Mission Police Department and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.

Meza has a history of evading arrest and escaping custody, according to authorities.

Alton Police extended their thanks to local and federal partners for assisting in locating and apprehending Meza.
