PVAS searching for owners of microchipped dogs rescued from McAllen home

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Palm Valley Animal Society is searching for the owners of microchipped dogs that were rescued from a McAllen home during the weekend.

Faith Wright, the Palm Valley Animal Society director of operations, said 12 of the 93 dogs were microchipped. She added that two out of the 12 microchipped dogs were registered to different addresses.

Palm Valley Animal Society is reaching out to the owners but has not received a callback.

The two microchipped dogs were sent out to fosters. Wright said that once they receive a call back from the owners wanting their pet back, they will contacted to return the dogs.

Palm Valley is working diligently to get the 93 dogs the care they need. Donations are still being accepted to help cover medical costs, food, transportation and vaccines.

The organization's goal is to reach $20,000 to cover those costs.

Wright said that on Monday and Tuesday, the dogs will be transported to rescue groups in San Antonio and New Braunfels. She added that 10 to 15 dogs will be given per rescue group.
