Alma and Andres Garcia would find the trip back at ecotourism center well worth it, saying “we thought, let’s go home and see. Maybe we’ll get a chance and look. We got a chance to see it. We’re so excited.”

Another visitor equally excited to see the eclipse was Roberto Cebeda, who thanked the center for hosting the event and handing out visors.

"We appreciate Edward Meza, the director here, and all his staff making it possible for just folks to come," Cebeda said. "For some, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and so we appreciate what the county does and what STEC specifically does for the folks around here.”

The center received over 300 visitors from the Texas A&M Forest Service to help people safely view the eclipse.
